"We didn't play a complete game," said a relieved Westinghouse head coach Quentin Dillard after seeing his team avoid a big upset at the hands of the Dolphins. "If we are to be a championship team this season we will have to play a full 32 minutes each game.

At the outset, it appeared Westinghouse looked as if it would have little trouble with the Dolphins. With Thomas scoring 11 points, they raced to a quick 19-7 lead in the first quarter. However, the Dolphins didn't give up. With A.J. Ramboza coming off the bench to run the offense and Mike Davis hitting from the outside, they were able to stay in the game and trailed only, 28-22 at the intermission.
