Hey! Let's go hunting. What are we going to hunt for? Well, I'm not sure but I believe if we just load up our guns we'll find something to shoot. Maybe we will have some target practice instead. I'm sure there is something walking around with a bull's eye on its back. On the days immediately following Katrina it has been said that vigilantes roamed the streets and African American men were the targets.
From the Report of the Katrina National Justice Commission, Samuel De Witt Proctor Conference, Inc. entitled "The Breach: Bearing Witness" testimony was given that African American men were in fact shot at and shot. Quoting from the report: "Moreover, there were several who testified about the presence of vigilantes in the days after the hurricane. These armed vigilante groups were reported to target African American men.How long before justice is served? We all know that African American men are disproportionately represented in prisons, will die sooner than most men, make up a great pool of the unemployed, and are near the bottom tier of getting into college or joining a skilled trade union. The question is, will one day justice be served, or will African American men continue to walk around with a bull's eye on their backs?See the full content of this document
