Summary
The event is being dubbed as the largest gathering of self-published authors in the city and is free and open-to-the public. Come meet one of the most eclectic mix of self-published authors from around the country. This year's theme "My Story, My Way" highlights the struggle of the self-publishing author to tell their story on their own terms. The event features an author marketplace and autographing session, guest lecturers and the popular charity drawing. Last year over $3000 in prizes was awarded to attendees. Participating authors include ESSENCE best-selling authors Janis Kearney, Brenda Taylor (recently featured in Italy's version of Vanity Fair and the Mantel Williams Show), Darrin Lowery and many more. Artists participating include Melvin King, Bill Hill, and Clifton Henri and Rashawn Taylor. Keynote speaker will be ESSENCE best-selling author Janis F. Kearney (Cotton Field of Dreams). Special musical performances by Nina Ray and gospel ensemble Sanctuary. Yours truly will host the event in preparation of my soon-to-be released book.
The highlight and well as the closing extravaganza will be the must attend Allure of Couture, on Oct. 14. The haute night starts with a 6 p.m. VIP reception; followed by the fashion show at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the breathtaking Chase Promenade North in Chicago's Millennium Park. The fashion show and reception will celebrate the artistry of new and established designers. The Allure of Couture showcases designers whose design philosophy has been influenced by their diverse heritage and cultural experiences. The fashion show will showcase the talents of high-end and state-of-the-art fashion and accessory brands for women and men including Barbara Bates, Jack Cave, Nick Cave, James de Colon, Sujata Gazder, D'Wayne Lonzo, Horacio Nieto, Pricewalton, Kristina Sparks, Double Stitch, Calvin Tran and Sylwia Wilczynska.See the full content of this document
