James "Major" Adams, a living legend on the West Side of Chicago who has mentored children and served families for over 50 years, founded MACC, formerly known as the Henry Horner Boys and Girls Club. "Major," a recipient of numerous accolades including the 1998 National Jefferson Award, is one of this year's "Legends" honorees. Others include Rep. Danny Davis (D-IIl.), Dr. Zerrie Campbell, president of Malcolm X College; Earline Lindsey; State Rep. Art Turner; NBC 5's Warner Saunders; Maurice and Verdine White, of Earth, Wind & Fire fame; Mamie Bone; Mack Alexander ÉÐ; Secretary of State Jesse White; Judge Dorothy Jones and Tina Weisinger. Who Knew? - I sure didn't until Saturday at UNCF's Black & White Ball that Jann Honore, the area development director, is an identical triplet. I was standing next to her two sisters during The Gap Band performance and said to one of them (who I thought was Jan), "Wow, that must be your sister, 'cause you two certainly look alike." She smiled and answered "yes," and we both got back to "singing" with Charlie Wilson.A few minutes later I said to Jan, "I just met your sister. You two certainly look alike."
