"When the music department went on a cruise to Cozumel about three or four years ago, that's when I really got to know [Donald Young]. He was very spiritual and delightful. Donald was very jovial, always keeping us in stitches," Theresa Hooks, a member of the Women's Choir said.

"I'm holding on as best as I can. I'm very sad. I will miss his leadership skills and musical talents he brought to the school," Mary McNair, principal of [Guggenheim] said of Young, who had been a fourth grade teacher at the school for the past eight years.
