I can't even put into words the magnitude of "shopping cart road rage" I witnessed that night in the dairy aisle of my neighborhood grocery store. Just thinking about it makes me want to scream.

I have tons of friends who hate to see the holidays come around. "Bah humbug," they'd say. I would ask them why they feel the way they do. Their reply would be although they may have some time off from work, they work hard to get their big holiday meals to the table. Many of them don't even get to enjoy their company when dinner is being served.

* If you are doing greens or string beans, slow simmer those vegetable scraps with some smoked meats until they are falling of the bone. Remove the solids and you'll have a fine "pot liquor" for either.
