Bush and Cheney Must Go

Summary

Under former President Bill Clinton's administration, the country had a surplus of about $260 billion. In February, [George W. Bush] sent Congress a $2.4 trillion budget with increases for defense and homeland security, but also a record $521 billion deficit. Bush's answer to reducing the deficit was to cut the U.S. Agriculture Department and the Environmental Protection Agency budgets, further jeopardizing the nation's ecology, farming, and food safety.

Also, the Bush administration's contempt for civil liberties and the Constitution are reflected in its sponsorship and passage of the Patriot Act.
