The offices of the AAPL, a barber shop and a few other businesses were also on the block ,and none of the landlords or owners of these businesses were notified in advance of the upcoming occurrence. When I inquired of both the aldermen and the CAPS officers, one stated that it was coordinated by CAPS and the other stated that if I had attended the CAPS meeting I would have known. I simply informed them that their desire to communicate with those of us in the area who have been making various overt attempts towards improvement, left a lot to be desired. I further asked, "Now what can the community expect as a result of this 'dog and pony' show? I was told, 'maybe the people on the block will gain an incentive to take better care of their property'.
