American Ballet Theatre Was Super Awesome in 'Swan Lake'

Summary


Principal dancers Paloma Herrera and Marcelo Gomes were featured in the roles of "Odette-Odile" and "Prince Siegfried" respectively and Carlos Molina, seen in the role of "von Rothbart," performed brilliantly.

Impressed by his gentle personality, she, [Odette] reveals her plight. She reveals that she is a princess who fell under the spell of an evil sorcerer, and now she must remain a swan. It is only in the hours of darkness that she may resemble a human. She is condemned for eternity to remain a swan. The sorcerer appears. The prince reaches for his crossbar, however, the evil one disappears and Odette leaves and hides in the forest. At dawn, Odette returns to her guise as a swan. Siegfried is shocked.

A ball is held in the Great Hall and young princesses from all over the world are introduced to Prince Siegfried in order that he may choose his bride. Siegfried announces his intention to marry Odile as von Rothbart asks Siegfried to make an oath. He suddenly sees Odette weeping. Grief-stricken, Siegfried rushes to the lakeside.
