"We are already under terrorist attack here in Englewood. We're under siege already," Mamadee said. "I'm so tired of every time one of our students gets killed we make the noise for a little while and then that's it."

Englewood residents rallied together last week to find the killer of 14-year-old Starkesia Reed. Carail Weeks, 24, of the 1300 block of West 51st Street, was charged with Reed's homicide Friday.

"We are so happy they made some real progress in this case, but it took (Reed's homicide) to get the government to respond," [John Paul Jones], said. "We've got to do everything we can to bring hope to this community."
